TDLR PLAN REVIEW

If the construction or modification of a building is greater than $50,000 AND the building is a public accommodation or a commercial facility, a RAS must review the construction documents and specifications for the project. The plans must be submitted by the design professional within 20 workdays of them being issued.

The following are exemptions: federal property, restricted occupancy spaces, areas within a building used for religious rituals, van accessible parking at garages constructed prior to April 1994, and residential facilities.

TDLR requires that the design professional who has the overall responsibility for the design of the building or facility to submit the plans and specifications to a RAS no later than the 20th day, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays, after the date the plans have been issued for permit. If there is not a design professional with overall responsibility, then the owner of a building or facility holds this responsibility.

The plan review process will take a few days to complete and submit a report. We will walk you through the process, submit all the required forms to TDLR and answer any questions or concerns you have along the way.
